Chapter 2: The Battle of Mean Street, The Rise of Courage Part 1

Dark one’s Lair

  In what used to be the Imagina Castle, once a bright and beautiful palace but it is a dark and dull now. The once pure and clear crystals have turn dark and corrupt as the castle has turned to a more corrupted and evil.

 The residents of the castle and the village were captured and made to the work as slaves for the Dark One. The residents that managed to escape with hiding in the woods and forming a rebellion or they have set out to sea to head towards the mainland.

 In the castle’s throne, Sitting in a thorn and spike throne in a dark cloak was the Dark One, the evil mastermind that took over the Imagina Kingdom. Standing to the right of his throne, was his royal knight Ecliptor. Kneeling in front of them, were the Dark one’s top generals in his army, Starscream (G1 Design) and Denisse Blackrose.

 “Report” Commanded the Dark One

 “Yes Master, I received word from Soundwave that the heroes have arrived in our world but thanks to my brilliant planning I managed to separate them” Starscream reported making himself look the best

 “Good, now what the location of the beast as of now?” asked their Master

  “Not yet, but we are looking right now as we speak. I have Beetleworks swarming possible location across the wasteland. Recently we have hit a hotspot in a remote area of Bog Easy” Starscream commented

  “Excellent, I’ll send that idiot toad king to look over it. Perhaps this time, he might not fail me” stated the Dark One as he was still upset that King Wart was foiled by two teens and rabbit-like creature in Dark Beauty Castle.

 “Of Course” grunted Starscream knowing he wanted to take all the credit himself. Just before leaving, the Dark one said “Wait Starscream, there is a large cargo crate outside I want to you take to Bog Easy to assist in the search”

 “I’ll make sure to grab it before I take off” replied Starscream as he left to retrieve the cargo before departing to Bog Easy

 After Starscream had left the throne room, The Dark One turned to Denisse and asked “Now Denisse, what do you have to bring to me today?”

 “Well apparently thanks to the Mad Doctor’s device, the Transportation was inferred and the object was damaged slightly. “ Denisse reported as she was a bit intimidated by her master

 “I see, continued” The Dark One commented

“Yes Master. Dr. Franken-ollie has been able to repair the damages to the object in question and
has been rebuilding him as you request” replied Denisse finishing her report.

 “Excellent, if things are going like they are now then once the humans get together again. My Ultimate weapon will end them and everyone who opposes me once and for all” the Dark One stated

 Denisse cleared her throat before asking “Sir, I do have one question and that is why you had Starscream rebuilt. You are aware according the records in the library shows the Starscream is known to be power hungry and betray his leader before he was sent to the Wasteland?”

  “Yes, I am aware of that Denisse. I have order Ecliptor to kill Starscream at the first moment of his betrayal” the Dark one commented as Ecliptor nodded

  “Sorry my lord, I was curious about that. I’ll go and check on Dr. Franken-Ollie” said Denisse with a bow and left the throne room.

  “Ecliptor, I want to watch King Wart and Starscream in Bog Easy, and end King Wart if they fail in locating and capture of one of the Beasts” ordered The Dark One

 “Yes, my master. I’ll complete your wish” said Ecliptor before teleporting to Bog Easy

  Once Ecliptor left to watch over Starscream and King Wart, the Dark one was left alone and then got up from the throne and walked to the center of the room and press down on one of the floor titles.

 Suddenly the floor started up as the Dark One stepped away and looked down at the opening as a bright light and said “All is according to plan, and once my plans are completed and the humans along with Oswald are destroyed. I’ll rule the Wasteland as a mighty storm”
Mean Street- Train Station

   Noble, Draco, and Kip fell out of the Movie screen as Oswald shook his head and thought ‘Are these two humans part of the legend about the warriors from another world’ as he watched them get up from the ground

 “Well that was an interesting experience” said Noble as he dusted off his jacket.

 “Yeah, it was a dozy” replied Kip as he fixed up his tail

  Draco was cleaning his glasses and commented “I have to say it’s an unique way to travel place to place instead of using a vehicle for transportation”.

  After cleaning themselves off, they looked around and saw where they were was mess with ruined streets, collapsed building and massive holes on the ground.  “What happened to Mean Street, it looks like it’s the quake all over again” said Oswald before running off to investigate

 “Hey wait up for us” said Noble as he, Kip and Draco followed the rabbit through the ramble of Mean Street. They followed Oswald to one of the few building that survived the disaster.

  Noble, Kip and Draco found Oswald talking to a big black cat wearing a pair of blue overalls, a brown bowler hat, and had a brown shoe on one leg and his other was a peg leg.

  “Pete, what happen to Mean street? It looks liked the earthquakes happened again” said Oswald

 Then the cat called Pete replied “It was that ‘em rogue beetleworx. They went wild and wrecked the place especially the projector station and the Wasteland railroad system here”

 “That’s horrible, where’s Jamface, shouldn’t he started on repairs to the projector station” Oswald asked since he knew Jamface was in charge of the projector station on Meant street

 Pete nodded and then replied “That there is another problem, those rotten bots nabbed Jamface and flung him somewhere in the rubble. Now if you fellas excuse me, I’m going to get everyone so we can down ‘em bots” as Pete waddled off to find volunteers

 Oswald sighed and said “Oh boy, This isn’t going to be good”

 “What’s the issue, Oswald?” asked Kip

 “It’s that these Toons that live on Mean Street, they don’t want to fight just want to live in peace after being forgotten. A war or battle is the last thing they need” Oswald replied

 “Well I admit you make a good point, but still we can’t let those “things” take over their homes” Noble commented

 Draco and Kip nodded in agreement and then Draco stated “Noble’s right and maybe there are Toons that want to fight back but are bit cowardly or intimidated by the bettleworxs”

 “They just lack the courage to do so unlike Pete” stated Noble, agreeing with Draco

 “But how do we do that? We don’t have badges of courage to offer to them” Oswald commented

 “Actually it’s very simple in how we do this is by helping Pete and Noble and Draco will help out too” Kip said

 “That’s not a bad idea, Kip. Draco and I could help get the Toons gather up the courage they need to stand up and defend their home” Noble commented

 “Also we can find out what could’ve happen to the others that were sucked into the TV after this is all over” Draco said knowing gather some information about the Wasteland while on Mean Street would be a good idea as well.

  Quick as they could, Noble, Kip, Draco and Oswald gathered all the citizens of Mean Street in front of the wrecked Train Station for a meeting held by Pete. The meeting was supposed to test the courage of the citizens to if they had the courage or not to defend their home.

 “For the last few months ‘ver since the Doctor reformed and started to fixin’ his mess including ‘em beetleworxs. Unfortunately ‘em roguies have started to become more dangerous to use Toons and our homes. We know the Doc wants to fix all the beetleworxs but this time they gone too far. An’ this mean we have to destroy ‘em ourselves” said Pete before Oswald took his spot

 “Look I know the last few months have been harsh since the whole Mad Doctor episode and another disaster to the Wasteland.  The Doc has made an oath that he has changed for good but he a lot on his plate as much I don’t like to admit it but Pete has a good point maybe we should help the Doc out with the rouge ones” Oswald explained as the Toons in the audience were talking about what Oswald and Pete had said before them.

   Out of the crowd came out an animatronic female duck holding a microphone and alongside her was a blotling in a pirate outfit holding a reporter’s camera came to interview Oswald. “Daisy Duck of Wasteland Report, Oswald; these creators beside you and Pete are from the lights we saw earlier today” asked Daisy as Draco and Noble were confused as the animatronic duck called them “Creators” instead of humans

 “Yes, they are. I saw the light and head to Dark Beauty Castle to investigate as a big one landed at the castle. Unfortunately I wasn’t alone and I encounter the moldy toad King Wart and a few rouge Beetlworxs, but luckily I was saved by Noble, Kip and Draco here and we came back here” Oswald explained

 “Oswald, I’m not sure if you are aware of this. Some of the toons aren’t approving of having creators in the Wastelands as some still hold grudges of being forgotten by their creator and never being remember” Daisy commented

 “I had a feeling this would be an issue. But fear not, I’m not sure some of them may have not heard of the legend prophecy about 5 strangers from a distant world. I believe these two creators are part of that prophecy as earlier today I received news as the Archipelago was taken over by someone referring himself as the “Dark One” “ said Oswald addressing the consider of the issue of the toons being uncomfortable of having Draco and Noble around.

 “Thank you Oswald” said Daisy before turning to the camera “Loyal fans, if you would like to know about the prophecy please visit the Mean Street Museum to learn about it” Daisy said before the Blotling shut off the camera

 “Great work and now back to the penny arcade to edit until the projectors are fixed” said Daisy as she and her camera man left

  “Folks, Pete, my three new friends and I will take care of the remaining beetleworxs but would like some volunteers to help out. If any are interested please stay here but other than that you are free to go” said Oswald as the masses left and head back to work on fixing up the area after the attack and leaving Oswald, Noble, Kip, Draco and Pete alone.

 “Well looks like we have to do this ourselves Oswald” said Pete

 “Yep, we’ll start in a few but first we must be prepare before go. Draco, Noble;  I need you two to find possible info about the hiding spots of the beetleworxs we might not know of. While me and Pete start making a plan of what we know could be hiding spots of the beetleworxs on Meat Street” said Oswald

 “Sounds like a good plan, Oswald” said Draco

 “Alright, then let’s go” said Noble as he took lead of their job

 The first place that Noble, Kip and Draco checked out was a local burger restaurant near the train station called “Splatter Patty”. The three of them entered the joint and saw a couple of toons looking at them.

 “Well this might not be easy” Draco commented

 “Still there is no risk in trying” Noble replied as they took a seat at the counter and waited to be served. Soon the two were served by a pink panther toon.

 “Hello, my name is Pink. I’ll be your server today, so will you be having” asked Pink

 “Actually we were wondering if you spotted any rouge beetleworxs since the attack” asked Noble

 “Well not sure, if I had seen any but I did notice something entering the movie theater from the rooftop after the attack” replied the Pink Panther

 “I see could they have some sort of hive at the theater?” asked Noble

 “It’s a possibility that there if the rogues one have created a hive mentality” replied Draco

 “You mean like bees and ants?” Kip commented

 “Preciously Kip, but we need a way to get in there and lure them away out of their nest and hopefully find Jamface” Draco commented

 “Okay but one problem how do we get in there, Draco?” Noble asked

 “Oh yeah, I haven’t thought of that part yet” Draco replied with sheepish chuckle as he, Noble and Kip tried to think of an idea to get into the theater without being detected

 “Hey I think I remembered something” said the Pink Panther

 “Really, what is it?” asked Kip

 “The Beetleworxs normally attack Toons but for some reason they ignore animatronics” explained Pink as he was drying some dishes

 “Interesting but too bad no of us are animatronics so we have to think of something else that can
work” Draco comment

 “Actually I have some suits in the backroom, this place use to been some kind of Pizza parlor and was abandon and forgotten for some time before arriving on Mean Street until me, Horace and Pete fixed it up and made it into a new restaurant that we have today” Pink explain as he lead Noble, Kip and Draco to backroom

 “Okay but why I’m getting a scary feeling about this?” asked Draco as a fear started to take over

 “Come Draco, there is nothing to fear besides we have a way to get inside their nest and check things out” Noble replied as he tried to help calm down his friend

  The Pink Panther lead our heroes to a backroom and showed them hollowed shells of several different animatronics from a Bear to a Pirate Fox.

 “So these are the suits?” asked Kip as he looked at the parts

 “Pretty much, the Gremlin scrapped down the metal and electronic parts and left me with the shell that I could use for my own use after I cleaned them” Pink explained

 “Hey Draco, at least you don’t have to fear about being hurt while in the suit” Noble commented as he looked at what suit to where

 Draco replied with a weary “Yeah…” as he knew that it was just the shells but didn’t like the idea of wearing the suits but without any other options. This was there last resort.

  Noble saw that Draco was a bit intimidated by the suits and about wearing them as well and then said “Hey Draco, I have an idea”

 “Okay what is it?” Draco asked

 “How about I go in there and look for Jamface and you and Kip keep watch or distract the Beetleworxs” Noble explained as he started to put on the leg parts of the pirate Fox suit.

 “You sure about this, Noble” asked Draco before saying “I mean what about you being discovered and attacked”

 “Hey it’s a risk but if it means helping our friends in the end, I’ll do it” Noble said as he put on the last piece of the suit, the fox head with one eye patch.

 “A bit of advice, everyone notices that the Beetleworxs leave the theater after dusk for some reason. So it might be a good time to go investigate” said Pink as he looked at the clock seeing it getting close to dusk

 “Well looks like we got our plan and when we should we start” said Draco

 “Yep we sure do. Come on, let’s head over by the theater and wait until its safe to go in” said Noble as he took of the head because it was getting hot in there

 Draco and Kip nodded in agreement and the trio left to wait near the movie theater until dark and then their job to investigate and possible find Jamface in the rumble near it

Bog Easy- Unknown Area

King Wart had his troops searching high and low in the swamps of the Wasteland looking what the Dark One required as Starscream arrived

“I see that you already failed at you job, Toady”  mocked Starscream as he transformed into Robot form after he dropped his cargo

“Shut it, Robot-breath *Croak* I was going my job fine anyways” croaked the self-proclaim king toad

“The Dark One wanted me to supervise this operation since you failed at apprehending the rodent” Starscream retorted as he started to open his cargo

“What is that you got there, Starscream?” King Wart asked

“The Dark one has the Monkey Doctor built them some special Animatronic built to track down those sacred beasts and eliminate anyone who comes upon us while we do the search” Starscream explained as the panel breaks down and falls revealing 6 animatronics resembling Velociraptors

“They are called Veloci-drones” Starscream said as they all turned on and one of the them let out a whopping cough sound alerting the others and then they dashed off to the point of interest

“What was that about?” asked the Toad king

“It seems they found something or someone already and at faster rate than you or your troops” said Starscream as he transformed to Jet mode and flew after the drones
